| [Windows] I got a brand new wireless Linksys N router, help me!
Okay so I removed my old Buffalo AirStation 54 and replaced it with a brand-new Linksys wireless router. I set it up, got the wireless internet running well and everything.
Problem is, on my PlayStation 3 it says everything is perfect, but the NAT type is blank. So it won't let me do anything online the PlayStation 3.
So I called Linksys, and they said that what's probably happening is that the Motorola 3347's NAT is conflicting with the Linksys's NAT.
What can I do? Give me step-by-step instructions, please. Thanks. | | daveinpoway Premium join:2006-07-03 Poway, CA

I haven't worked with the Netopia 3347, but these steps have enabled me to use an external router with the 3346N-002 (which I believe is essentially the same as the 3347, just without the wireless):
- In the 3346's configuration menu, under Configure > Advanced > NAT > Default Server > NAT Default Mode, set to "IP Passthrough". Check "DHCP Enable". For "Host Hardware Address", use the MAC address of the router's WAN port.
-In the 3346's configuration menu, under Security > Breakwater Firewall, set to "Clear Sailing".
-Set the router to acquire a WAN IP address via DHCP. Set the router's MTU to 1492.
-Connect the WAN port of the router to one of the 3346's LAN ports. | |
