Value in Stephen King Collection?

Click for full size

Is picture of someone elses book
So, it looks like I've inherited a Stephen King Collection. I'm trying to get enough funds together to pay for cremation and internment.

Among other things, there is the above unread (and really heavy) red leather-ette suite totally what looks like 30 books or so.

I'm told (but haven't confirmed) that there are first and signed editions of the early books.

Besides ebay and the local used book shop, what are my choices? Does any know of a site of rabid King fans who'd show an interest?

Thanks.

FWIW, Misery is one of the best books i've ever read, and IT is the only book that really scared me.

I was partial to The Stand (unabridged).

I loved IT, and also I really liked The Tommyknockers as well. The Stand too.

First Stephen King book I ever read was Firestarter.

BTW he has some great short stories too. Some have been made into movies, some haven't. I remember the story "Trucks" which was made into a fairly crappy movie called Maximum Overdrive.

There's another story I loved but can't remember the title. It featured a Hitman fighting for his life in his high-rise condo because the mother of one of his victims sent him a "special" present of well equipped Toy Army Men.

The Mist was great, but it just ended..... The Running Man kicked ass..... The movie is nothing like the Book. I've never read The Shawshank Redemption, but it's a REALLY good movie.

One that I thought was a surprise was "I am Legend".
If you haven't, pick it up, it's relatively short.

It's really weird if you saw the movie. It's about 90 degrees off.
They are alike, but then they are not.

I don't have the link, but in King's hometown there is the store that sells all King items. They should know about anything and everything about King's stuff.

Have you done a Google search yet? I always start there and yes sometimes it is a total waste of hours. Stephen King used to live in Bangor Maine, might still be there. 20 years ago I lived down the street and around the corner from him. Beautiful house with a very fitting wrought iron fence on West Broadway. This may help if you want to track down that store. I think he grew up in Portland Maine, store may be there, also. I'm sure he has a web site.

I replied once here, beats me what happened to it.

I was saying that my SK experience occurred after reading the DT trilogy. Over and over again, I found myself looking for patents by North Central Positronics. I'm normally not a big SK fan, but reading the DT changed my thinking; it's really embedded itself.

In looking through the collection today, I found well worn 1st ed copies of The Stand and Cujo. There are a half dozen early books that look like 1st ed, but are missing the telltale marks.

There are newer SK books that seem in great condition; some of which are true 1st ed.

I've found biblio.com, abebooks.com and other sites that were helpful. One of the big national resellers (seashell books) is local to me; I've sent them an email. They bill themselves as discount, but you never know.

Directly and indirectly; all the posts here have been helpful.
I'm grateful for all your time and attention.

Slightly OT....

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but my gf has about 3,000 comic books, mostly in VG to Ex condition in the clear sleeves, that she'd like to get rid of.
Anybody have any ideas other than eBay or a big bonfire?

Local collectors or a comic book shop.

Do some online research first on the value of the comics so you
do not get hosed by an unscrupulous comic book dealer or collector.
