I installed Avast anti-virus and it caused some issues, so I tried to uninstall it; however, the system tray icons will not go away. What do I need to do to get rid of these?

Sorry red, I meant that I installed Avast and I am having trouble getting it to completely uninstall from my machine. |

It may be because you waited too long to edit your post.
But here's a better question:
Were you able to uninstall Avast successfully using the suggestions above?
If so, then I think people will figure the rest of it out.
If your problem was solved, others may get something useful out of this thread.
True, maybe not by searching, but potentially useful none the less .

You have about week to edit which is a very generous amount of time. I have 30 minutes at the Avira forums (and was 15 minutes but changed because of complaints). You must have tried after the edit time expired.
Why don't you "hey mod" it and choose "other" for your reason for the "hey mod" and then in the text box briefly explain that you could not change it and for search purposes it would be good to have the correct title. Or, you could just IM WCB and ask that it be changed.

I use Windows' search feature and search files and folders manually after a program uninstall and delete any random or stranded files myself. Also a registry edit program is quite handy.

Sorry it has took so long for me to get around to responding. Been busy with family and just aint had time. The aswclear worked great. Had to get into safe mode, then it worked its magic. Thanks for the help. It was much appreciated.
