bridged ips

the term for servicing more than one Ip address on the same ethernet cable. The old solution used to be to operate multiple NICs, one for each IP address you wanted to be. Linux, and possibly other operating systems?, allow you to respond on as many ips as you want, over the same cable and one port. These are bridged ips, and your ISP will have to know about them so it can route the IP addresses to you. They will also probably charge you for that.
